Worth the hype? Soleil Tan de Chanel

I jumped on the bandwagon and purchased the ever so famous bronzing product from Chanel. The 'Soleil Tan de Chanel'. I mainly decided to purchase it due to the hype in the beauty community on YouTube, and I'm glad I did because it has become a staple in my beauty routine, especially for summer months.

Packaging:
This product looks very luxurious and can be displayed on your makeup vanity. The classic 'C' logo is on the product lid and looks very sleek. The size is pretty large, so it isn't very practical to bring travelling, but that is just a very small problem for me and I don't mind it at all.

Price:
The Soleil Tan de Chanel retails for $69 at Myer, which in my opinion is justifiable. Some people may argue that it's way too expensive for a cream bronzer, but you're basically paying for the name.. it's Chanel! Of course it's going to be a high end price. I feel that the price does justify the quality of the product, and I would repurchase if I ever ran out.

Texture:
The texture of this product is pretty creamy, sort of like a whipped mousse consistency. It dries to a powder finish. The cream gel bronzer glides smoothly onto the skin and melts into the skin seamlessly. If you look at the product up close, you can see small specks of glitter/shimmer, however, this doesn't really translate onto the skin. You can wear this cream bronzer over makeup, or alone with just some moisturiser to add some definition and colour to the face! I always gravitate towards this product when I'm going for a 'no makeup makeup look', as it gives my pale face a bit of colour and life. Soleil Tan de Chanel is a milk chocolate colour, with a strong yellow undertone, and works best on light to medium skin tones.

Application:
To apply Soleil Tan de Chanel, I usually use a foundation brush such as the Zoeva Silk Finish brush, or a beauty blender. Both of these tools blend the product perfectly onto my skin. I apply the product under my cheekbones, a little on the nose, under the jaw, and on the forehead to give my skin a sun kissed look.

Lasting power:
This product usually lasts around 8 hours on my skin, and I usually layer a powder bronzer on top of it to make it last longer and to basically set it. It's usually best to set any cream products as it will usually smear throughout the day, however, you could wear it alone but keep in mind it won't last as long!
Let me know in the comments below if you've ever tried this product and your thoughts on it! Do you think it's worth the hype?
See you in my next post!
